I started playing drums at the age of 14. Before my 16th birthday I was approached by a very well known school in Pretoria to become a music teacher. Since then I taught music at various schools throughout SA. I have done a variety of freelance work, all related to the entertainment / music industry. Composer / Artist / Music Producer
In the past few years I’ve produced albums & numerous singles. Two of the albums I produced for local artists were nominated for a Ghoema Award. (SA’s Grammy’s). Five years ago I decided to focus on my own music, so I’ve been writing instrumental / neo-classical / film music. My first album “Shades of Blue” was released through Next Music in December 2016. The album generated a lot of interest and three of my singles played on radio (in five different countries).
Since my first album release I have released another seven instrumental albums and numerous singles and EP’s. I have been co-writing music for other artists and produced numerous tracks for a variety of projects. In 2019 I was Nr1 worldwide (Classical Music) on Reverbnation and I’m currently Nr15. I recently signed a publishing deal with Alcon Sleeping Giant (in Los Angeles) and since then I’ve helped to write music for Film & Television on various projects. My music have played on radio in South Africa, Netherlands, Australia, Ireland, Romania and Uzbekistan, and in 84 Countries on Spotify.
Twelve of my music videos play on South African television, and my video “Dark Soul” was in the Top 10 on Indiecast TV for six months. Two of my albums have been selected as CD of the week on SA’s Fine Music Radio and I reached Nr1 on NumberOne Music in Netherlands for my track “The Dream Giver”. Another highlight was being invited to do a live broadcast (Christmas Special) with various international artists on Dublin South FM in Ireland.
Musician
I’m a Drummer / Percussionist and also play some Piano. I have worked with many top producers / musicians and artists in South Africa, and have played on approximately 9 platinum and 15 gold selling albums and many others... I’m also a competent engineer and use Logic Pro & Cubase in studio. Two of my highlights were recording a track with international saxophonist Dave Koz and SA Trumpet Legend Hugh Masekela.

CEO for HIT Records (Orchard South Africa)
I was a partner and the CEO for HIT Records / 2 Brothers Entertainment for the 5 years. Some of my duties included; Budgets, Marketing Strategies, Social Media, PR, Music Videos & Audio Production. I was also responsible for digital distribution and release strategies.
The work experience taught me to liaise with all the different role players and how to manage different staff in their own creative environments. Advertising, Scheduling and Brainstorming to get optimal results. We had 13 Artists and various distribution deals, a Radio station, Audio and Visual Production Studios, a Publishing Company and a Bookings Agency. I was in charge of overseeing all of the different divisions.
Television Editor / Producer / DOP
I have edited /produced TV graphics for numerous infomercials, music videos, documentaries and DVD’s. I have done various freelance work for SABC 1, (Our Public Broadcast Corporation) and shot and edited a documentary for SABC3 regarding the "State of Public Schools' for the IDT (Department of Public Works) More recent work includes a history program “Kings of the Park” produced and edited for Mnet, Supersport. I have produced numerous music videos for South African Artists mostly aired on DSTV’s Kyknet and SABC Graphic Design
I started my own business and we operated for approximately 8 years under the name InterImage Design. In that time we designed for large corporate companies as well as small to medium business. Some of our core clients include(d); Revlon SA, MTN Zambia, First National Bank, Revlon Ghana, CANSA, Hospice and many individuals like, Liezel vd Westhuizen, (TV Personality) Anna Davel, (Singer) and many others.
Web Design
I have developed hundreds of websites from scratch and have won Numerous Web Awards. I currently only design front-end, but I am properly aligned with developers to handle any type of web design. Previously I developed in Joomla and Wordpress but often worked with MySQL, SQL and Java programmers to develop custom solutions for front and back end users.

Although I do not have my Bachelors degree, I was accepted in 2021 to the European
Academy of Fine Arts in Sofia, Bulgaria to study a Post-Graduate Diploma in Film and
Game Scoring. This was achieved by an assessment of my work, capabilities and music
scores. The European Academy of Fine Arts are constituent colleges of Irish American
University. My finances did not allow me to complete this as of yet.

Jacques Rautenbach has been steadily infiltrating the Instrumental / Light Classical
Music Market. It’s been many years since he released his debut album Shades of Blue,
but fast forward six years and he’s composed, recorded and released 8 Full Albums, 3
EP’s and 9 Singles, with collaborations with some of the worlds finest musicians.
The last six years was spent developing his own music, but don’t be fooled… Jacques
has been a professional musician for the past 28 years, not as a Classical Pianist, Artist or
Composer, but as Studio Drummer to some of the most well known Afrikaans singers in
South Africa. Some of these artist include Bok van Blerk, Lianie May, Eden, Bobby van
Jaarsveld, Steve Hofmeyr, Eden, Ddisselblom, Ray Dylan, Ricus Nel, Gerhard Steyn,
Appel, Pieter Koen & Kurt Darren to name a few. These represent more than 10 Gold
